Autism coaching

Neuro Directions – Autism coaching support

Autism coaching support is a valuable resource for autistic individuals, a lifelong developmental disability that can significantly impact their wellbeing and life outcomes. Autism can present differently and vary from person to person, resulting in a distinct combination of strengths and weaknesses. These challenges often encompass difficulties in social interaction, communication, repetitive behaviours, sensory sensitivities, emotional regulation, and anxiety.

In recognition of these obstacles, autism coaching support offers a practical intervention that aims to assist autistic individuals in discovering effective strategies to overcome these challenges and enhance their overall quality of life. This support extends to various areas, including academic pursuits, career development, emotional well-being, and interpersonal relationships. It’s essential to emphasize that formal diagnosis of Autism is not a prerequisite for accessing the benefits of autism coaching support. The primary focus is on providing individuals with the necessary tools to navigate their unique experiences, empowering them to achieve their personal goals.

Autism coaching support can work well for the following difficulties:

  • Communication
  • Improving self-esteem and confidence
  • Relationships – personal and professional
  • Managing sensory sensitivities
  • Coping with the school or work environments
  • Concentration, focus, and attention
  • Managing transitions and change
  • Managing emotions, including anger
  • Developing impulse control
  • Planning and organisational skills
  • Time-management
  • Goal-setting and motivation
  • Poor sleep and insomnia
  • Anxiety and stress

How autism coaching support works

You will need to book a 30-minute free discovery session with a coach via the bookings page. During the discovery call, you will get to know the coach and find out if their approach is right for you. Additionally, you and the coach will agree on the frequency and time of the coaching sessions.

Autism coaches and support mentors

Autism coaches and support mentors require specific skills and experience. All our coaches and mentors are highly skilled and come from a wide range of professional backgrounds which is great because, as a collective, we share ideas which also means that you can find the right coach for you. Some are neurodivergent themselves; some are neurotypical, and all have experience working with neurodivergent individuals. They all receive regular supervision and training and have the expertise and knowledge to adapt coaching models and techniques to suit your needs. We love supporting people of all genders and neurodivergent types working to realise their passions and achieve their short and long-term goals.

How much does it cost?

Coaching sessions range from £120 to £240 +VAT per 60 minutes. We also offer lots of slots at a reduced and low cost for those on a low income or where they are grant funded; we don’t want the price to be a barrier for you to access support.

You may be entitled to apply for a grant that can either pay for the coaching in full or contribute towards the costs via the UK government access to work scheme.
